The Executive Chairman of Yaba Local Council Development Area, Hon. Dr. Bayo Adefuye, today received Hon. Adebanji Atewogboye, Senior Special Assistant to the Lagos State Governor on Grassroots Sports, on a courtesy visit aimed at strengthening collaboration for sports development within the LCDA.

The meeting provided an opportunity for both leaders to discuss strategic ways of promoting sports among youths in Yaba, with a focus on empowerment, talent discovery, grassroots engagement, and creating more accessible sporting programmes across communities.

Hon. Dr. Adefuye reiterated his administration’s commitment to fostering youth development through the Yaba Tuntun Agenda, emphasizing that sports remain a powerful tool for nurturing talent, building discipline, and creating opportunities for young people. He noted that Yaba LCDA will continue to align with the broader vision of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration to deepen sports participation and infrastructure across the state.

In his remarks, Hon. Atewogboye commended Hon. Dr. Adefuye for his progressive leadership and expressed readiness to partner with the LCDA on initiatives that will enhance sporting activities, encourage grassroots competitions, and support youth involvement in productive ventures.


Both leaders agreed on actionable steps that will further strengthen sports development in Yaba, ensuring that young people have the platforms and facilities needed to thrive.

The visit reinforced a shared commitment to advancing youth empowerment, community growth, and sustainable development through sports.
