YOUTHS TAKES  AWARENESS CAMPAIGN AGAINST RAPE , ABUSE AND VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN TO METROPOLISE  Akeem Adeshina  June 16th 2020 As the nation celebrated the first June 12 anniversary  officially declared as  Democracy Day in Nigeria, youths in Oshodi-Isolo Local Government under the auspices of a non political group named Not2young To Rule took to the metropolise of the local government to sentizise the community and add their voice to say NO to  anti-social behaviour such as rape , abuses and violent against women which is becoming a norm in our society. LAGOS EAST SENATOR IS DEAD

The Senator representing Lagos East senatorial district, Sikiru Oshinowo, popularly called pepperito, has been confirmed dead. Osiniwo, who passed on at age 64, was said to have been ill after speculations that he  contracted coronavirus in Lagos State. His remains would be buried according to Islamic rites today by 4pm at ijebu. Senator Osinowo’s death was confirmed by the  Chairman of Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Mayor Dele Osinowo.

APC EDO GuBERNATORIAL PIMARY ELECTION : COURTS ORDERS STATUS QUO TO PARTIES

The Federal High Court in Benin City has again refused to grant an interim injunction filed by Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State and his allies asking the court to restrain the All Progressives Congress from conducting its primary election set for the 22nd of June in the state. In his ruling, the Judge who acknowledged the urgency and sensitivity of the matter refused the request of Obaseki’s legal representatives to grant an ex-parte order. Instead, the Judge set a full hearing for Thursday, June 11. The Thursday hearing, according to the Judge, will allow the court to properly examine the merits of the filed injunction and provide a chance for all parties involved to argue their case before a verdict is delivered. The Judge also ordered that the status quo should be maintained by all parties pending the hearing on Thursday. COVID-19: LAGOS STATE MODIFIES LOCK DOWN

Lagos state governor Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu has announced modification in the current COVID-19 lock down in the state. The governor make this  announcement at the state house in Marina while expressing the state efforts in combating the spread of COVID-19 in the state . He said religious activities in the state  will commence on Friday June 19th and Sunday June 21st with a crowd capacity not more than 40% attendance and churches and mosque should not hold more than one service, other regular service and vigil are to be put on hold .  Citizen above 65years old are advised to stay away from worship centers . Lagos state is presently the epicenter of the COVID-19 in Nigeria with highest number of confirmed cases of the virus.
