Abuja court affirms Baruwa as NURTW President

 ABUJA COURT AFFIRMS ALHAJI TAJUDEEN IBIKUNLE BARUWA AS NURTW PRESIDENT 

A national Industrial court in Abuja on Monday March 11 has affirmed Alhaji Tajudeen Ibikunle Baruwa as the validly elected president of National Union of Road Transport workers ( NURTW) and declared Alhaji Tajudeen agbede led chairman Caretaker Committee illegal .

The court validated the national delegates conference held on August 23rd in Lafia nasarawa state where Alhaji Baruwa emerged as president with other national officers and inaugurated. 

She ruled that there was no evidence of a crisis in the union and therefore there was no basis for the invocation of "doctrine of necessity" which led to the constituting of the so called Caretaker Committee and there fore declared as,illegal, null, void and unconstitutional the national delegates conference held on october 25, 2023 where the so called acting President , Alhaji Isa Ore and his National Administrative council were said to have emerged .

The Court also restrained former president of the union Comrade Najeem Usman Yasin who was Chairman Board of trustee from interfering in the day to day running of the affairs of the union but could act as chairman of the board .

The above verdict by the presiding judge Justice O.O.Oyewunmi brought to an end the leadership crisis rocking the union following delegates conference held across the six Zonal councils of the union where Alhaji Baruwa emerged as president for second term .
