 Abuede Babes Legend Returns with a Novelty Match to commemorate a Decade celebration of the Passing of Late Chief Paul Olorunfunmi Kehinde Abuede an Icon of Philanthropist and Humanitarian

On August 8, 2024, the second day of the celebration commemorating the tenth anniversary of the passing of the esteemed philanthropist and humanitarian, the late Chief Paul Olorunfunmi Kehinde Abuede, was marked by a series of vibrant activities at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan. The highlight of the day was a novelty match that brought together fans and supporters to honor the legacy of a remarkable individual who made significant contributions to the community

In her welcome address, the eldest daughter of the deceased Mrs Helen Mosunmola Abuede Yekini eloquently praised her father's virtues, particularly his contributions to sports development, talent discovery, and community service. She encouraged everyone to emulate her father's numerous endeavors aimed at uplifting not only his children but also those around him. 

Furthermore, she assured the attendees that the family is committed to preserving and honoring her father's legacy


The highlight of the event was the introduction of the Abuede Babes Legend by Hon.Clement Ayodele Abuede to the audience as they faced off against the Lekki All Stars football team, which included celebrities such as Akpororo and Patoranking etc. The administration of the crown warmly welcomed both teams, creating an enthusiastic atmosphere




The Abuede Babes Legend team, composed of a mixture of Abuede grandchildren family members, and former players of Abuede babes legend team, led the first half with a score of 2-1. The goals were scored by Godson Abuede, wearing jersey number 24, and Hon. Murphy Yekeen.





In the second half of the match, Lekki All Stars demonstrated their prowess by scoring two rapid goals, bringing their total goals to four. Notably, Akpororo achieved a hat trick, earning him the title of Man of the Match in this exciting novelty event.



Earlier in the day, various activities, including a sack race and an egg-and-spoon race, were organized for the grandchildren of Abuede, adding vibrancy and enjoyment to the occasion




The family provided three coastal buses to convey guests from around Lagos state to the venue from two pick up points , Toyin street and Ladipo residence of Abuede's for convenience to and fro to Mobolaji Johnson Arena , Onikan .

The stunning Mobolaji Johnson Arena, illuminated beautifully, showcases the remarkable transformation led by the sports-loving Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu. It is truly a sight to behold.

Many spectators from Oshodi expressed a strong desire for the establishment of similar sports infrastructure in their community. They believe that such facilities would enable the next edition of the celebration honoring the life of the late philanthropist to be held in the community he dedicated himself to during his lifetime.


The Grand Finale of the celebrations is scheduled to take place on August 10th at the Detutu Events Center in Ogudu.

Ondo state : Gov. Aiyedatiwa campaign coordinator assassinated

BREAKING: Ondo State Gov. Aiyedatiwa’s Campaign Coordinator Assassinated By Babajide Razak Dada Alaba Excel Abbey, one of the campaign coordinators of incumbent Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo state, has been assassinated. Mr Abbey, who served as a ward coordinator for the Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organization Foot-Soldiers (LACO-SF), was killed at his home in Supare Akoko, Akoko South West Local Government Area. EFCC DECLARES YAHAYA BELLO WHO IS HIDING IN KOGI GOVT HOUSE, WANTED By Dada Babajide Razak  Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, is wanted by the EFCC for offences relating to economic and financial crimes to the tune of N80.2 Billion.
