NATIONAL YOUTH GAMES : LAGOS STATE SPORTS COMMISSION DG ALONGSIDE SSA GRASSROOTS SPORTS LAGOS VISIT TEAM CAMP AT ROWE PARK,YABA

September 7, 2024, Lekan Fatodun, the Director General of the Lagos State Sports Council, along with Hon. Banji Atewogboye, the Special Adviser on Grassroots Sports, known as SKIBANJ, paid a visit to Lagos State athletes who are gearing up for the National Youth Games in Asaba. The visit took place at the Rowe Park Sports Complex, where the athletes are currently training.

During their visit, Fatodun and Atewogboye engaged with the young athletes, offering words of encouragement and support as they prepare for the upcoming competition. The National Youth Games is a significant event that showcases the talents of young athletes from across the country, and the Lagos State delegation emphasized the importance of dedication and hard work in achieving success.

The officials took the opportunity to assess the athletes' training routines and provide guidance on how to enhance their performance. They also discussed the importance of grassroots sports development in Lagos State, highlighting the government's commitment to nurturing young talent and promoting sports at all levels.

The visit was well-received by the athletes, who expressed their gratitude for the support from the Lagos State Sports Council. With the National Youth Games approaching, the athletes are motivated to give their best and represent Lagos State with pride.

As the countdown to the games continues, the encouragement from leaders like Fatodun and Atewogboye serves as a reminder of the vital role that community support plays in the development of young athletes. It's is hopeful that with the level of preparation by the Lagos state athletes , the state position on overall medal table would be an improved outing compared to the last edition .

Ondo state : Gov. Aiyedatiwa campaign coordinator assassinated

BREAKING: Ondo State Gov. Aiyedatiwa’s Campaign Coordinator Assassinated By Babajide Razak Dada Alaba Excel Abbey, one of the campaign coordinators of incumbent Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo state, has been assassinated. Mr Abbey, who served as a ward coordinator for the Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organization Foot-Soldiers (LACO-SF), was killed at his home in Supare Akoko, Akoko South West Local Government Area. According to news on social media  the deceased was the returning officer for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ward 10 in the recently concluded primary of the governing party. A younger brother to the deceased, Mr Samuel Abbey, who confirmed the sad development, revealed that the politician was shot at the front of his house. EFCC DECLARES YAHAYA BELLO WHO IS HIDING IN KOGI GOVT HOUSE, WANTED By Dada Babajide Razak  Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, is wanted by the EFCC for offences relating to economic and financial crimes to the tune of N80.2 Billion. Anybody with information as to his whereabout should please report immediately to the Commission or the nearest Police Station.  YayaBello was currently assumed to be hiding inside the Kogi Government House under the shield of his co-thief, Gov Ahmed Usman Ododo  The antigraft agency has threaten to use military involvement to arrest him if doesn't present himself to face prosecution .
