The hallowed halls of the Holy Saviours College auditorium in Isolo vibrated with laughter and the joyful chatter of reconnection as Isolo Grammar School's Classes of '87 & '88 celebrated their highly anticipated 2025 Reunion on April 21st.
The day commenced with a vibrant red-carpet photoshoot, capturing the rekindled camaraderie of old friends. Members, beaming with nostalgia, shared tales of their past, reminiscing about their formative years and the unforgettable experiences that shaped their lives.
The reunion transported attendees back to their school days, sparking shared memories of classrooms, friendships, and the teachers who guided them. Vivid recollections of shared adventures and amusing anecdotes, peppered with imitations of their beloved teachers, filled the air, creating moments of uproarious laughter and genuine connection.Beyond the joyful reminiscing, the event also served as a platform for inspiration and motivation.
Attendees shared words of encouragement, expressing gratitude for life's blessings and urging each other to face challenges with resilience and unwavering faith.Recognizing that many were navigating the "fifth avenue" of life (their fifties), a significant portion of the discussion focused on the importance of prioritizing health and well-being to sustain a healthy and fulfilling life. Dr Oluremi Adejumo( PhD) led other health specialist to speak extensively on all health related issues especially at age forty and above .
The Class of '89 led by Mrs Bunmi Taiwo and entourage also joined the celebration, promising to incorporate the lessons learned into their own future reunions, with the goal of unifying all Isolo Grammar old student groups under one umbrella.
The high point of the event was the presentation of plaques to two esteemed colleagues, Dr. George Duffy Udeh and Dauda Tanimowo, in recognition of their outstanding contributions. Both recipients expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the honor bestowed upon them by their reunion family. They encouraged everyone to continue extending the hand of fellowship, not only within the group but also by maintaining open communication with individual members. Overwhelmed by the turnout and the familiar faces of their old friends, their voices reflected the joy of reconnection as they reminisced and mentioned names during the live transmission.
Dr.George Duffy Udeh who joined the live streaming throughout the live streaming like other colleagues across the world nominated Rafiu Hassan to receive the plaque on his behalf, while Dauda Tanimowo nominated his wife Mrs Shadia Tanimowo who was also present as old student.
The event, expertly anchored by the vibrant Seyi Emmanuel Adebayo, filled the air with humor, jokes, and nostalgic throwbacks, setting a lively tone for the get-together. The atmosphere was further enhanced by great music, creating a serene environment where everyone joyfully displayed their dancing steps. Live streaming by DD Media Insight ensured that colleagues across the globe could connect with the event and be part of the historic celebration.
Pastor Dele Agbebiyi delivered the vote of thanks on behalf of the planning committee, expressing heartfelt appreciation for the efforts of everyone involved in making the event a resounding success, despite the short notice.It was mutually agreed that a committee would be formed to organize the next reunion which would explore opportunities for supporting their alma mater.
The event was a resounding success, filled with fun, an abundance of delicious food and drinks, and complemented by fantastic music that enhanced the atmosphere. The reunion group looks forward to an even more fruitful and memorable gathering in the future.
