 Lagos Football Summer Camp 2025: Akinsaya Foot-Soldiers’ Coordinator Applauds Program Initiator


The Coordinator of the Akinsaya Foot-Soldiers in Igando-Ikotun LCDA, Comrade Raimi Olasunkanmi (ROLAG), has showered encomium on the organisers of the just-concluded Lagos Football Summer Camp 2025, held at the vibrant Inspire Sports Arena, Cappa, Oshodi.

Speaking with journalists on Friday at the closing day of the camping exercise, Comrade Olasunkanmi described the two-week football fiesta as a laudable initiative and a bold step in the right direction toward uplifting grassroots sports, particularly football.

He revealed that he personally attended most of the sessions and observed the rigorous yet transparent screening exercises that grouped participants into U-13, U-15, and U-17 categories. According to him, every child gained valuable lessons, skills, and exposure that would shape their journey toward a successful career in football and beyond.



Highlighting the active involvement of his community, Comrade Olasunkanmi proudly noted that four females and seven males from Igando-Ikotun LCDA participated in the camp. The standout names include:

Sanni Modinat, Lawal Halimat,Odede Eniola, Bello Safurat,Raimi Quoreeblah, Raimi Abdulqowee, Shoneye Malik, Shoneye Awal, Okunola Tamilore, Shoneye Mathins,Olafatiah Lateef 


He went on to commend the SSA on Grassroots Sports Development to the Governor, Bamji Atewogboye, for his tireless commitment to grassroots empowerment, as well as Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his unwavering support for youth and sports development across the state.

Looking ahead, Comrade Olasunkanmi pledged to replicate such impactful initiatives in Ikotun LCDA, in partnership with the amiable Council Chairman, Snr. Comrade Lasisi Ayinde Akinsaya, himself a passionate sports enthusiast. 

He stressed that this would further consolidate the knowledge, discipline, and exposure gained by the boys and girls at the summer camp.
