The Inspire Sports Arena witnessed a day of rain, drama, and raw passion as Natt Boys FC and Ikorodu City FC sealed their places in the semi-finals of the 1xCup2025

An early downpour delayed kick-off by three hours, but when the action finally began, the tension was worth the wait. Immediately the competition’s technical team certified the playing turf fit for action, both teams lined up for the match ceremony, marking a milestone in grassroots football. In a symbolic act of sportsmanship, the sides exchanged framed jerseys before kickoff.

In the opening quarter-final clash, Natt Boys FC and Emaljus FC played with caution, producing a cagey first half that ended goalless.


The second half brought fireworks, with both sides carving out golden chances, only to be undone by poor finishing. With no breakthrough, the match rolled into a dramatic penalty shootout. Fans roared as both teams converted their first five spot-kicks. In sudden death, Natt Boys held their nerve, scoring three to Emaljus’ two, booking their ticket to the last four in style.

The second clash was more straightforward. Ikorodu City FC showed composure and ruthless finishing as they brushed aside Community Gunners FC with a convincing 2–0 victory, underlining their credentials as a serious contender to the ultimate crown.


Attention now shifts to the remaining two quarter-final fixtures on 24th September 2025: ISGAT FC vs. Vinmo Energy FC and Inspire Sports Academy vs. Dosu Joseph FC. With two table-toppers facing two wild-card warriors, fans are bracing for unpredictable showdowns. As the old saying goes, football is like a biscuit—you never know which way it will break.

Kick-off is scheduled for 12 noon at the Inspire Sports Arena, with maximum security assured. Fans are urged to come and experience the glamour, drama, and passion of grassroots football at its very best.
