The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) has honoured renowned journalist Mr. Wale Joseph with the Veteran Sports Journalist Award during its Diamond Jubilee celebration, in recognition of his remarkable service and lasting impact on sports reportage and administration in Nigeria.

Mr. Joseph, a respected figure in the nation’s sports media, has carved a reputation for excellence through decades of dedication and professionalism. Over the years, he has held several pivotal roles within the association, including Deputy National Secretary, Assistant Secretary, and Vice Chairman of the Lagos SWAN chapter, earning the respect of colleagues and administrators alike.

Beyond the newsroom, his influence extends deeply into sports governance. He has served two consecutive terms on the Lagos State Football Association Board and presently functions as the Chief Operating Officer of the Lagos State FA League, where his administrative expertise continues to strengthen grassroots football structures across the state.
