The Super Eagles of Nigeria produced a spirited performance on Tuesday in Antalya, Türkiye, playing out an entertaining 2–2 draw against Jordan in their second match of the 4-Nations International Tournament.

It was a contest filled with rhythm, resilience, and flashes of attacking brilliance — the kind of football drama that keeps fans on the edge of their seats.

Jordan, a side already preparing for the FIFA World Cup later this year, struck first in the 17th minute, slicing through Nigeria’s defence to take an early lead and silence the crowd momentarily.

But like true Eagles, Nigeria soared back.
The equaliser arrived through Moses Simon, who reacted quickest inside the box after Ademola Lookman unleashed a thunderous shot that was parried by the goalkeeper. In the scramble that followed, Simon pounced to stab the ball home — restoring parity and igniting Nigeria’s momentum.

Moments before the halftime whistle, Nigeria completed the comeback. Emmanuel Fernandez rose highest in the box to guide the ball into the net, giving the Super Eagles a 2–1 lead at the break and rewarding their growing dominance in the midfield battle.

The second half saw Jordan push forward with renewed intensity, pressing high and testing Nigeria’s defensive resolve. Their persistence paid off in the dying moments of the match when a late equaliser slipped past the Nigerian backline to bring the contest level at 2–2.
Despite the draw, the Super Eagles once again displayed flashes of promise and tactical discipline.

Nigeria had earlier opened their campaign with a 2–1 victory over Iran, another nation preparing for the upcoming World Cup — a result that already signaled the team’s competitive spirit in the tournament.

What makes the performance even more encouraging is that several regular first-team players were absent, giving emerging talents the opportunity to step onto the international stage. The technical crew will take positives from the resilience, creativity, and hunger shown by the squad.

For Nigerian fans, the message is clear: the future still holds bright skies for the Super Eagles, even after narrowly missing out on World Cup qualification.
In Antalya, the Eagles proved once again that Nigerian football still carries the heart, flair, and fighting spirit capable of soaring high on the global stage.
