Nigeria’s Nigeria national football team, popularly known as the Super Eagles, delivered an impressive performance on Friday, March 27, securing a 2–1 victory over Iran national football team in the ongoing Four-Nation Tournament in Antalya, Türkiye.

The Nigerian side took the lead through Moses Simon, who capitalised on an early attacking move to put the Eagles ahead. The advantage was later doubled by Akor Adams, finishing off a well-crafted pass from Ademola Lookman to strengthen Nigeria’s control of the match.

Iran responded with a goal from Mehdi Taremi, who reduced the deficit after reacting quickly to a scramble inside Nigeria’s penalty area. However, the Super Eagles held firm for the remainder of the encounter.

Goalkeeper Maduka Okoye was solid between the posts, helping Nigeria maintain their lead until the final whistle.

The Super Eagles will return to action on Tuesday when they face Jordan national football team in their second fixture of the tournament, as the team continues preparations and squad assessment in the competition.
