Massive Grassroots Rally Boosts Ogundipe’s Re-Election Bid Ahead of APC Primaries

As the countdown to the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries gathers momentum, Hon. Ogundipe Stephen Olukayode intensified his grassroots campaign with a massive rally held on May 6, 2026, at Oludegun Junction, 7/8 Mafoluku, Oshodi-Isolo. The event witnessed an overwhelming turnout of party faithfuls and supporters, signaling strong backing for his re-election bid.
The rally attracted several prominent political figures within the constituency, including Hon. Akeem Sokunle, a two-term member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Mejindade Ganiu, Dr Ariyo, Alhaji Olounoje, Hon.Banjoko kalejaiye, Hon.Marouf Emmanual , Hon.khadijat Jimoh , Hon. Femi Ayodele alongside other influential stakeholders who openly declared their support for Ogundipe’s second term ambition.
In a notable display of party cohesion, representatives of various aspirants for the House of Representatives seat were also present, further underscoring the growing acceptance and widespread support for Ogundipe—popularly known as Omojomolo—across the constituency.
Addressing the enthusiastic crowd and members of the press, Hon. Ogundipe expressed appreciation for the unwavering loyalty of party members. He emphasized the importance of unity, discipline, and political maturity as the primaries approach.
“We are party men; this is our party. We have remained loyal and will continue to do so. Party politics is about the people, and that is what we have consistently demonstrated. Let us sustain this spirit as we approach the primaries, and continue our support for Bola Ahmed Tinubu re-elect as president , Dr Kadir hamzat as Lagos state governor ” he stated.
Also speaking at the rally, Alhaji Olounoje cautioned proponents of the so-called “Irintutu” agenda against acts of intimidation and political hostility. He reiterated that elections should be driven by the free will and conviction of the people.
“We are politicians, and we reserve the right to support whoever we believe in. Apc members are peace loving people , irrespective of our choice of aspirants we relates and see ourselves as member of same family . When decisions do not favor you today, do not become a spoiler—it may favor you tomorrow. Let us embrace sportsmanship and rally behind whoever emerges as the party’s candidate. I stand firmly with Omojomolo for a second term,” he declared.
Some constituents who spoke with DD Media Insight correspondents questioned the opposition to Ogundipe’s re-election, citing the benefits and developmental strides facilitated under the APC-led representation in the constituency and question their grievances if they have not benefitted from such decision of the party of re-election in the past .
They said despite the massive support of Ogundipe he still campaign vigorously to sustained his commitment to the grassroots .
The crowd later walked through some streets such as St Paul, makinde etc where residents cheers and showed love to Hon.Ogundipe as the crowd sings and jubilates .
The significance of the rally reflects not only the growing momentum behind Hon. Ogundipe’s candidacy but also the resolve of APC members in Oshodi-Isolo Constituency I to mobilize support and deliver a resounding mandate in the forthcoming primaries.
