Two Goals Seal Oshodi Glory as Street Soccer Fiesta Ends in Style

Sheu Close emerged champions of the Lagos State Street Soccer 2.0, Oshodi Edition, after defeating Amusa Street 2–0 in an exciting final played on Saturday, August 15.

The victory earned Sheu Close the ₦1 million grand prize, while Amusa Street settled for ₦750,000 as first runners-up.

The final was kicked off by Hon. Maruf Akinderu, Lagos State Commissioner for Housing, before a capacity crowd that created an electric atmosphere throughout the encounter.



Earlier, Oremeji Street secured third place with a commanding 6–1 victory over Salawu Street, earning ₦500,000.



Individual brilliance was also rewarded. Chizom Kalu (Eto) of Sheu Close was named Most Valuable Player and received ₦100,000, while Fawaz Abayomi claimed the Golden Boot with ₦100,000. Man-of-the-match winners throughout the tournament also received ₦10,000 each.

The grand finale featured entertainment from renowned football entertainer Mimmick, who thrilled spectators with impressions of famous football legends and coaches. A portrait was also presented to Hon. Adebanji Atewogboye (Skibanj) in recognition of his contribution to grassroots sports development.

Speaking at the event, Hon. Taiwo Aiyedun( Shanana) and Muyinwa Alakija, APC candidates in Oshodi-Isolo Constituency 1, commended the initiative for discovering young talents and keeping youths engaged through sport. Nollywood actress and politician Foluke Daramola also urged other local governments to adopt the concept and called for a female edition.

The NDLEA used the occasion to caution youths against drug abuse, addiction and other anti-social vices.



The tournament, organised by Sporty Lagos and supported by the Lagos State Government, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, FirstBank, Bank of Industry and Dangote Salt, attracted traditional rulers, politicians, government officials and sports enthusiasts.



With fans describing the second edition as a major improvement on the first, attention now turns to Lagos State Street Soccer 3.0, scheduled for October in Ejigbo LCDA, Oshodi-Isolo.
