ISOLO GRAMMAR SCHOOL STUDENTS RE-UNITE AFTER
THIRTY TWO YEARS
It was quite an impressive event as the old students of Isolo Grammar School came together to celebrate the gift of life after 32years.
The event kicked off in an atmosphere of praise and worship on 26th December,2020 at Oladele Street, Ire Akari Estate, Isolo. The highly spiritual opening prayer was led by former Senior Girl of the school Dr. Legbeti Agnes, (nee Aiyejuro). It was a moment of prayer that was quite deep and touching.
An excited former Senior Boy of the school , Ademola Oloyede gave a very heart warming welcome address. In his speech, he appreciated everyone who made the
re-union a reality, specifically giving kudos to the organizing committee for a job weldone. Going down memory lane, he recalled the group WhatsApp was the brainchild of Aremu Fatai while Oladele Agbebiyi who is the current head of the admins of the platform took over this vision and worked tirelessly as link to re-unite everyone including those in diaspora.
He said, the essence of life is to be our brothers keeper and at this golden age we need each other, hence we need to start linking up with one another. He stressed that everyone present have all been blessed differently and there is need to carry each other along in any form that might be required . He pleaded with those whom God has placed in position of influence to endeavour to be cheerful givers to the group .
He further explained that one of the objective of the re-union is to interact by showing high level of commitment to the group. On this note, he appreciated school mates in the diaspora like Titilayo Beyioku, Abisoye Soyemi, Niyi Osuniyi and others whose interest and resilience was exemplary. Ademola Oloyede insisted that only coorporation with one another, regardless of our differences, will sustain the group. "We must help one another" he concluded
A minute silent was observed for the departed souls of some of our teachers like Me Oduwole etc, our much loved Mathematics teacher who imparted mathematical knowledge on us as student in Isolo Grammar School and some classmates known to us like Ugo Uzor and Nelson.
The big highlight of the day was the health talk facilitated by Nathaniel Oduronbi , the congregation of ex Isolo Grammar School students were taken through by Mr. Dan Ekele a nutritionist and wellness consultant . the session was highly educative and informative as it was centred on the required diet and nutritions for us who are now 40 and above in age . A lively question and answer session followed thereafter. Special thanks to Nathaniel Oduronbi who facilitated the health talk.
The group also made some donations to four members as part of the goal of the body which is to show love to one another in our hour of challenges and celebrate each other in our many celebrations.
The group proceeded to have so much fun as they mimmick their old teachers and shared funny experiences of their days in their secondary school .
Several pictures were taken to mark the day. Hopefully, these pics will would be kept in archives as moments of shared fun and memories.
Dada Babajide Razak (ex asst. Senior prefect ) moderated the events with endless jokes that made everybody " Gbe bodi soke ". Members finally showed their dancing dancing to many current and old school vibes. It was such a thrill seeing their old dancing steps were still intact.
Kudos to the host Oladele Agbebiyi for hosting perfection in every ramifications. Thanks to Akeem Dayo Oyedokun, the organising chairman , to Mrs Funke Mene and Alhaja Jumoke Aregbe who anchored item 7. BIG THANK YOU to special donors within the group , May God continue to replenish and bless you all.
Next year hopefully will be bigger as everyone is already looking forward to seeing more members from home and abroad again!!!

Nice one but I think the reporter can go a step further by providing the role call of those that were in attendance. This will enable some of us remember names we have had in the past 32 years.
